Gladys went to sleep peacefully and woke up in the arms of Jesus on Sept. 8, 2015.
She met Carl Junior Basey and married him 76 years ago. Gladys was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved quilting and was a member of Needlebenders Quilt Club. She also loved going to garage sales and flea markets.
Gladys was a faithful, longtime member of Medulla Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, two sons Jimmy and Steve Basey, and her daughter Kathy Caracker.
She is survived by three sons: David Basey, his wife Myrrell of Lakeland, Bill Basey, his wife Linda of Ft. Worth, TX, Mark Basey, his wife Jennifer of Ft. Myers, FL; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Medulla Baptist Church on Sept. 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation, fellowship time at 10:30 a.m.
