Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Carolyn Brown, was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father on April 29, 2023. She passed peacefully while surrounded by her loving family, all of whom adored her for her short, adventurous 79 years on this Earth.

On April 3, 1944, Robert Lewis Grant and Elmina Adams welcomed their newest bundle of joy as Carolyn, the third of five children, was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

In 1964, Carolyn was blessed to meet the man who would become her best friend, and who would stand valiantly by her side for the rest of her life - a charming, young man named Robert Eugene Brown. They were married on September 3, 1966. Faithfully, hand-in-hand, they steadfastly built the life of their dreams together for 57 beautiful years. Robert and Carolyn raised five handsome sons, and spent many, many years enjoying the rich blessings of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was truly the most important thing in this world to Carolyn, second only to her relationship with her Savior.

Carolyn grew up hunting, fishing, hiking, and exploring the trails and streams of the Swan Valley/Palisades area with her many cousins and friends. The love of the outdoors was shared by Robert and then deeply ingrained in the boys over many years of camping, fishing, and hiking as a family. As a talented artist, her favorite subjects were the landscapes, mountains, and wildlife so familiar to her growing up. In recent years, she painted requests from the grandchildren and many friends. She has gifted us with well over 100 paintings ranging from birds, flowers, butterflies, landscapes, sea life, and even comic book characters!

Carolyn embodied calm and quiet wisdom along with care and compassion that blessed the lives of many people. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in many callings and loved them all. She especially cherished the two times she and Robert served as Family Search Service Missionaries and in the Idaho Falls Temple for a combined 13 years. She loved family history. She enjoyed interviewing aunts, uncles, and grandparents for first-hand accounts about their aunts, uncles, and grandparents for as many generations back as possible. She created several volumes of these stories, helping the generations after to know and love the generations before.

After a brief but heroic battle with cancer, she is now happily reunited with her Savior, along with her parents, "Bob" and Elmina, and her three brothers, Dennis Robert Grant, William Louis Grant, and Lewis M Grant.

She is survived by her sweet husband, Robert; her five sons, Jason (Millie) of Ammon, ID; Steve (Cristy) of Ucon, ID; David (Sundi) of Riverton, UT; Joseph (Denise) of Ammon, ID; Dennis (Kim) of Nampa, ID; her sister, Jeannie (George) McDowell of Idaho Falls, ID; 24 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

We believe that Carolyn is now anxiously engaged in uniting the human family through genealogy work from the other side of the veil. We will miss you dearly, Mom, but until we all meet again, enjoy your beautiful new view! We love you!

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Ammon 14th Ward, 4363 E. 17th Street, with Bishop Rhett Judy officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services, both visitations at the church.
