Graveside services for Myrtle Catherine McDonald will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 10:00am in Old Waverly Cemetery.

Catherine was born October 22, 1918 in Red Water, Texas to Clarence and Onie McCarty and entered the Gates of Heaven on August 12, 2012 at her home in Old Waverly, Texas. Catherine is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde McDonald, 2 sons, Kenneth McDonald and Gene McDonald; grandson, Gabe Tullos, great-granddaughter, Emma Houser and by her great-grandson, Houston Briggs. She is survived by her daughters, June Peel, Syble Whitfield and husband Larry, and by her daughter-in-law, Tommie McDonald; son Dale McDonald and wife Laurie; sister Imogene Brown of Red Water and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends also survive.

-- She loved watching the birds outside her seat at the kitchen window, especially "Red Birds" (Cardinals) and we used to enjoy picking pecans in her yard and taking her wild blackberries to make cobbler.
