Cecilia Catherine Bowdren, age 88, of Cortlandt Manor went home with Jesus this past Friday. Born in 1935 in Ossining to Helen and William Ryan. After graduating Ossining High School, Cecilia went to nursing school in Massachusetts. She met the love of her life, John Bowdren, on a blind date. They married on October 22, 1955. Her life revolved around her 8 children and working in the medical industry in various locations in Westchester. Cecilia was a parishioner of St. Columbanus Parish for over 60 years, volunteering her time in many ways to the church. Cecilia is survived by her 5 sons; Brian, Sean, Timothy (Joan), Patrick (Jill), Terrance (Joanne); 3 daughters Kathleen (James) Giordano, Mary-Ellen (Robert) Walsh, Sheila (Mark) Falloon; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband John, her brother John and sisters Elizabeth, Margaret and Noreen, as well as her beloved niece Linda. Cecilia's family will receive visitors at Dorsey-Carlone Funeral Home, 1100 Cortlandt St. Peekskill on Thursday May 4 from 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 5 at 10AM at St. Columbanus Church followed by interment at Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
