Ally Rae Eilert died in her mother's arms on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, after a short, but extremely hard fought battle with Leukemia. She was born in Hutchinson on May 17, 2011, and in her three short years left an impact on thousands of lives. Ally was wise beyond her years, had a strong personality and a very tender heart. Even during sickness, Ally was continuously complimented on how well-mannered and polite she was by her caregivers. Her strength was admirable. After her diagnosis, she was put through a lot and rarely complained. She enjoyed Carly singing to her through the difficult parts of her treatments. "You Are My Sunshine" became a favorite. Ally didn't understand why the sky would be gray, so of course she had Carly change the lyrics to a blue sky. Ally loved crafts, dressing up, books, puzzles and animals, especially her dog "The Petie Boy." She enjoyed Salina Montessori School, Salina Public Library and going to work with Carly at what she called, "Coldboy Banker." We will always remember her ability to make others laugh. Although we will miss her every day, we are grateful for the memories created during her time here on earth. Ally taught us to celebrate each day, to love each other, and to fight courageously, even when the odds are against you.
