Thomas Jefferson Johns, Son of John Bunyan Johns and Candice Shipp, was the husband of Martha Ida 'Mattie' Eccles. They had 10 children. He served in the Confederate Army, and was in the 3rd Regiment of the North Carolina Cavalry. After the war he was a merchant and farmer in the Auburn Community of Wake Co. He was a life long member of Mt Moriah Baptist Church and served as a deacon.
