Tamara J. Diekhuis, 49, of Lake Mills, formerly of Mason City, died Saturday (Feb. 23, 2008) at Muse Norris Hospice Unit in Mason City.

Her body was cremated and a gathering was held at Knuckleheadz Bar & Grill on Sunday, Feb. 24, her 50th birthday.

Tamara Jean Diekhuis was born in Mason City, on Feb. 24, 1958, the daughter of Lonnie Vernon and Mavis (Linrooth) Findling. She attended Mason City High School.

Tamara worked at Knuckleheadz Bar & Grill in Leland. She loved her grandsons, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved to dance and play Yahtzee and Scrabble.

She is survived by her significant other of 20 years, Larry Florence of Leland; her son, Perry (Cynthia) Diekhuis of Forest City; grandsons, Nathaniel and Christopher Diekhuis of Forest City; her brothers and sisters, Vernon Findling of Mason City; Tony Findling of Brookings, S.D.; Lynn Toussaint of Iowa City; Allan Findling of Mason City; Ginger Hinrichs of Iowa City; six nieces and nephews; fifteen grand nieces and nephews; others she loved as family, Bev Florence, Deb Smith and Jason Florence; her cats, Jasper, Bear and Patches, along with many special friends.

Tamara was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Mavis Findling, and a special friend, Donna Florence.
