Sharon Regional Health System. She was 91.
Mrs. Maykowski was born May 5, 1915, in Greenville to John and Victoria Flaga Sapala.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sharon, where she formerly was a housekeeper and a charter member
of Ladies of Charity.
Mrs. Maykowski also was a member of the Polish National
Alliance Lodge, former officer and member of the Queen
Wanda Lodge, and of Notre Dame Quilters, Polish National
Alliance Bowling League and Senior Citizens Bowling
League in Hermitage.
She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Her husband, John J. Maykowski, whom she married May 16, 1937, died Aug. 28, 1978.
Surviving are: three children, Esther Vendemia, Columbia,
S.C.; Leonard M. and Vicki Maykowski, Colorado
Springs, Colo.; and Robert and Jennifer Maykowski, Ludlow,
Pa.; two sisters, Marie Petroski, Sharon; and Stella Dudek,
Birch Run, Mich.; two brothers, Michael and Shirley
Sapala, Greenville; and Walter and Jean Sapala, Hadley; and
eight grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren, and one greatgreat- grandchild.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in
death by a daughter, Joan Parimuha; a sister, Florence
Irene Sapala; and three brothers, John Jr., Theodore and
Frank Sapala.
