Born on August 20, 1938, to the late Oscar and Gertrude Stump.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Stump; and his son, Carl "CJ" Stump, Jr.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Salena Kay Stump Poff (Chris); granddaughters, TaMara Dillon, Tressa Poff, Corryn Jade Speed; and great-grandchildren, Blayne Dillion, Luka Lawhorn, Carter Earley, and Nova Earley; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, with Pastor Ben Lockhart officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the funeral home.
