Janet O. Pribek, age 90 of Manitowoc, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 7, 2023, Manitowoc.

The former Janet Duveneck was born on October 7, 1932, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Ulrich and Helen (Kadow) Duveneck. She was a 1950 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On April 19, 1952, Janet was married to Donald Pribek at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim, he preceded her in death on February 14, 2011. Janet worked for over 41 years for Wisconsin Fuel and Light Company. She was a caregiver for her mom for 11 years and for her husband for 7.5 years. Janet was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and served as Trustee for over 7 years. She also was host for 13 years to having a Mass at her residence every July or August for family and friends. Janet and her late husband Don were members of the Lakeshore Humane Society for a great many years.

Janet is survived by one sister-in-law: Janet Shimek, Manitowoc; nieces and nephews include: Debra (Jim) Kuehnl, Diane (Mark) Anderson, Donna (Steve) Dueno, Cheryl Duveneck and special friend Butch, Robert (Bonnie) Nack, Kay (Joe) Wetak, Janice (Randy) Sonnemann, Sharon Klinker, Denise Rettstadt, Bobbie Jo Ellis, Rob (Kathryn) Duveneck, Cindy (Denis) Vogel, Lisa (Dale) Hietpas, Christi (Russ) Hall, and Kelly (Ron) Pratscher; other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ulrich and Helen Duveneck, her husband: Donald Pribek; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank (Verona) Pribek; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Leroy (Mary Jane) Duveneck, Robert (Luanne) Duveneck, one sister and brother-in-law: Dorothy (Elmer) Nack, one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Shirley (Jack) Barnes, and Floyd Shimek.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Rd., Newton. The Rev. David Beaudry will celebrate the Mass of Christian burial with entombment to follow in the Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church Wednesday, from 9:30 am until the time of services at 11:00 am.
