Helen Louise Moore was born in 1910, the first child of Arthur and Rose Marie Moore of Kansas City. Helen was an accomplished violinist and vocalist. She taught elementary school for many years. She especially loved first grade and teaching children to read. Helen was married to Kenneth Cornell for many years. She and Ken moved to Florida in the 1950s. After Ken's death Helen married Thomas Perkins of North Carolina.
