Donald J Walker, age 100, of Shelton, died Monday March 17, 2008 at the Mother Hull Home in Kearney. Memorial graveside services will be held Friday, March 21, at 11:30am at the Shelton Cemetery. The Reverend John Ewton will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the Shelton United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation.
Mr. Walker was born October 7, 1907 in Shelton to Jesse and Agnes (Mundle) Walker. He grew up there, graduating from Shelton High School in 1924. He attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, graduating in 1929 with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural engineering. Donald returned to the family farm.

On October 9, 1942 Donald married Ruby Weston in Washington, RI. They lived there until moving to Louisiana where he surveyed for the US Army for the defense of America during World War II. They moved to Washington, DC for a while before returning to the family farm in Shelton in 1945. Mr. Walker had lived there all his life before recent illness caused him to move to Mother Hull Home in Kearney. He was a member of the Shelton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Don and wife Sandi; two grandchildren Mike & Jenny; two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife in 2003, and two sisters.
