Son of Warren & Waitstill(Young)Withington of Dedham, MA. He was born in Readville(now Dedham)MA. On May 11, 1870 he married Annie I.White (b.Argyle, NY Sept. 24, 1848) in Dedham, MA. Annie & Otis were next door neighbors on Milton St when they were growing up. Annie's father worked in one of the woolen mills in E. Dedham. After Otis & Annie got married they continued to live on Milton Street, where they raised their five children; Gertrude, George, Alonzo, John & Charles Albert. His wife Annie died in 1887 at age 47. Five years later, on October 20, 1892 he married secondly, Louisa M. (Lane) Pierson,(b.Tenants Harbor, ME Sept. 14, 1851). Otis was a carpenter. He worked with his father, Warren, as a builder. When his father retired, Otis took over the business. He was also on the first board of directors of the Dedham Co-operative Bank. He was a Mason. He became a member of the Constellation Lodge Sept. 18, 1872.

Headstone mistakenly says he died in 1916. His death cert. says 1917.
