He was born in Princeville May 1, 1914, a son of Byron and Latha Dunn DeBord. He was a veteran of World War II and had been in administrative and buying capacity for Black's Department Store in Waterloo.
Surviving are his widow; three children at home; his mother, and aunt, Mrs. Bess Hale of Peoria; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were also held in the Parrott and Wood Funeral Home in Waterloo.
