Doris M. Duncan, 89, of Colonial Beach passed away Monday, July 25, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Doris ran a preschool day care at her home in Manassas. She was a former Sunday school teacher in Manassas and a current member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Allen David Duncan; a daughter, Edith Mae Keller of Colonial Beach; a stepdaughter, Donna Ann Shipe of Hedgesville, W.Va.; two sons, William Thomas Bartlett and Patrick O. Bartlett, both of Manassas; two stepsons, Allen David Duncan Jr. of Frederick, Md., and Clinton Michael Duncan of Big Stone Gap; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, James L. Bartlett, and a daughter, Ellen Compton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George.

A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randall Snipes officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.
