James Keith Biggs, Sr. was born September 23, 1942 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Emma Mildred Partin Biggs and Wiley Allan Biggs. He had been a resident of Chandler for 15 years, formerly living in Tyler, where he spent most of his life. He graduated from John Tyler High School in 1960 and attended First Baptist Church of Tyler. He worked as a truck driver, a butcher for Brookshires, and owned Biggs Landscaping in Tyler.
James passed away at the age of 79 on June 10, 2022 in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherian Lajuan Biggs, and son, Keith Biggs.
Survivors include his children, Deborah (Rogan) Stroud of Lindale, Mary (Mike) Ragsdale of Tyler, David Biggs of Tyler, and Cody Cowan of Tyler; siblings, Tommy (Jody) Biggs of Shreveport, Jerry (Sharon) Biggs of Houston, and Brenda Allen of Lindale; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and special friends, Diane Biggs and A.J. Cook.
In honor of Mr. Biggs love for reading, memorials may be made to the Lillie Russell Memorial Library in Lindale.
A celebration of life will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 20222 at First Baptist Church Parlor, 301 Ferguson Street, Tyler, Texas. The family would love for you to join in sharing a favorite memory of James.
