It is with great sadness that we announce Verna has passed peacefully in her sleep in her 93rd year after several months of poor health. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Verna is predeceased by her much beloved husband John and is the cherished Mother of Carol (Terry). She was very honoured to be Second Mom of Gail (Doug), Linda (Steve), Robin, the late Johnny and the late Dianne (Bill). She is proud Grandma to Ronda, Kyle, Chad, Tyler, Eddie and Kristine and is Great-Grandma to Erin, Emma, Brooklynn and Mia Bella. She is predeceased by her youngest sister Ruth (Ernie) (the late Bob) and her oldest sister Audrey (the late Bert) (Audrey passed away about 6 hours before Mom), and is the sister of Dorothy (the late Roy) and Tom (Pat).

We are heart-broken, wounded with a pain that will never ever go away.

Verna was a kind and gentle woman, quiet and soft-spoken but she always expressed her love for us whenever we were with her. She never ever forgot a birthday or an anniversary and always made sure she was there for us whenever we might need her. She would become upset and vocal and would defend any one of us if anyone said anything negative about us.

Verna and the Dietsch clan went back many many years and in fact, Verna's Dad was a local baker and his bakery was visited often by the Dietsch kids back in the day, including her future husband John!

Mom truly loved cats and had been Mom to many kitties over the years. She was a master at creating wonderful needlepoint pictures of cats in all their glory and happily shared these among her family. We proudly display our needlepoints and will cherish them forever, never failing to be amazed at her creativity and talent.

Verna and John were perfectly suited for each other and became world travelers who visited just about every country on this planet! John could have Mom almost on the floor laughing just by walking into the room - they were so in tune with each other - he just needed to look at her and she would crack up! They were together for over 40 happy and fulfilling years and are now together again, hopefully traveling the universe.
