Albert (Buddy) J. Toto, Jr., age 69, of Hockessin, DE lost his hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer on May 17, 2023. He was a genuine, hard-working, loyal, selfless and kind-hearted man that loved life. He had a beaming smile and was loved by man.

Born in Kennett Square, PA on December 1, 1953 he was the son of the late Albert and Carolina Diamanda (Fieni) Toto.

He attended Kennett High School and graduated in 1971. He proudly worked with his father and brothers in the Toto family mushroom business. For several summers, he also worked at his parents' motel, The Tide Winds, in Wildwood, New Jersey. Later he was employed as a skilled heavy equipment operator before beginning a new career and retiring from the New Castle County Public Works department.

Albert attended St. Mary of the Assumption Church and was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Coffee Run Council 6768. He was an avid bowler (with the best group of men and women), enjoyed dancing, dinners with classmates, visiting the Delaware Park Casino and riding motorcycles. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with family - playing card games, board games, throwing Baggo, or vacationing in Wildwood Crest. He was always willing to help out his family and friends.

Albert was predeceased by his parents and brother, Joseph Toto and his brother-in-law Ralph Papa.

He remains lovingly remembered, and in the prayers of his wife of 36 years, Letitia (Lita) Pullella Toto; all of his beloved children and cherished grandchildren, who were PopPop's world, Jennifer (Vince) Basciani and their children, Vinnie and Lucy; Nicholas Toto and his children, Nicky, Kayla, Leeah, Mason, Maddie and Kaden; Allison (Andrew) Fehnel and their daughters Gia and Emmy; stepson, Christopher Stella and his sons, Cole and Sean; and stepson, Paul (Carrie) and their children, Luca and Ava. Other survivors include his three sisters, Diane (Carmel) Corona, Rosemarie Papa, and JoAnna Toto; his brother, Gerald (Maryann) Toto; and sister-in-law, Mary Toto. He will be deeply missed by other family members including aunts, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends and previous co-workers.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Delaware Hospice for their compassionate support.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 5 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808 on Thursday May 25th 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 26th at 10:30 A.M at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707.

Inurnment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to a charity of your choice.
