Ralph C. Heavilin, 70, of Saybrook passed away at 4:50 pm Monday May 1, 2023 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana with his family at his side. A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday June 3, 2023 at the Saybrook Community Center in Saybrook.

Ralph was born February 26, 1953 in Gibson City. A son of George and Jessie McRae Heavilin. He married Kathryn "Katie" Sweeney on June 1, 1974 in Bloomington. She passed away October 20, 1988.

He is survived by his two terrific kids and their spouses Matthew (Rebecca) Heavilin of Gibson City and Christie (Matt) Weidner of Saybrook. Five grandchildren that he adored Trevor, Harley Jo, Brodie, Allison and Cody; seven siblings, Delmar (Sharon) Heavilin of Gibson City, Dorothy Lilienthal of Carlock, Larry (Florence) Heavilin of Leroy, Kenny (Sue) Heavilin of Leroy, Tom (Sharon) Heavilin of Gibson City, Bev (Allen) Baker of Melvin, Roger (Teresa) Heavilin of Saybrook. Three sisters-in-law Martha Heavilin, Trudy Heavilin and Suzie Heavilin. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers David, Donnie, Steve, Ray and Jerry and infant sister Betty Sue.

Ralph was a truck driver for Steve Gilbert trucking and then for Mike Bushman trucking. He enjoyed antique tractors and often rode them in parades. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan. His most favorite thing was to spend time with his family and following his grandchildren around while they participated in their many activities. Ralph was also known for his one liners. "We may not be the best but we're in the top 10." He will be missed by his family and many friends.
