In the 1960s and early 1970s, Dr. Allan E. Marble, a noted genealogist, surveyed the large majority of cemeteries in Annapolis County. Later, Genweb volunteers transcribed Dr. Marble's survey notes and posted them online at Rootsweb.
The O'Dell House Museum, an Annapolis Heritage Society Museum, has a copy of the Stoney Beach Cemetery Map drawn in 1875 by C. F. Armstrong. Close examination of the map revealed this marker was not recorded as it was missed in the survey.
A total of twelve Hall family members are buried near each other, six of them the children of John and Elizabeth.
