Joseph A. DeCicco (Big Joe), 85, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2023 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford with his family at his side.

He was born on September 13, 1937 in Syracuse, N.Y., a son of the late Carmen and Angeline Gurerro DeCicco and received his education in Utica schools.

Prior to retirement, Joe was employed as plant superintendent with Detroit Strip Steel in Hamden, CT. After he retired, Joe also spent time working with Jim Bray, Baker's Greenhouse, and tree service with Mark Pirger.

He was a member of St. Bernard's Church in Waterville and was an avid fisherman, golfer, bowler, and hunter. Joe was also a New England Patriots fan and as a "Jack Of All Trades", was able to build or repair anything.
