Clear Lake [{Iowa] - Word has been received of the death of James Scherf, 79, at Clear Lake, Wis. He had been suffering a heart ailment or several months.
He was born March 3, 1878, at Ventura, the son of Edward and Mary Scherf. He was married Dec. 20, 1900 to Gertie Harthan at Ventura and they lived there for several years. His wife preceded him in death, Nov. 30, 1943, and also six brothers and a sister.
He is survived by two sons, Glen Scherf, Clayton, Wis., and Donald Scherf, Clear Lake, Wis.; a sister, Mrs. George Harthan, Cohasset, Minn., and a granddaughter.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church at Clear Lake, Wis., and burial will also be there.
