Fort Worth, Texas - Harvey Jay Kinkade, 90, of Burleson, Texas, was called to his eternal home on Sunday, April 23rd, 2023. He was born February 19th, 1933, to Matthew and Gertrude Kinkade.

Harvey lived a full life. He grew up working on the farm and left home at the age of 14. He began working in the steel industry until being drafted to the Army in March 1953 where he served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on February 28th, 1961. Returning home, he worked in the steel industry before retiring after 50 years.

Harvey married Floella Kirkland June 1956 and made Burleson his home. They raised two children together – Martin and Marcia.
Harvey was an avid golfer – with six holes in one in his life. Second to his children, Harvey took pride in his home and yard. He was awarded yard of the month many times in Burleson. He coached little leagues, bowled in a league and served on the Burleson City Counsel. Harvey adored his children, grandchildren and his daughter-in-law. He was a patient, selfless and giving man. He had numerous longtime friends that he considered family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Matthew & Gertrude Kinkade, sisters Peggy Elnora Garrett, Anne Ryder and Gaynell Toney, brothers A.L., Leon, Kenneth, Charles and Jerry Kinkade.

Harvey is survived by his son Martin and wife Michelle of Austin; daughter Marcia Pierce of Ft. Worth; grandchildren Rene, Joseph, David, and Audrey; long-time friend and caregiver, Tamara (Tammy) Early of Burleson; numerous nieces, nephews and countless special friends he considered family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held May 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Expanded obituary on Laurel Land website.
