Of San Diego, California, went to be with his savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on May 19, 2023. Jim resided in San Diego, CA since 1984. He died of complications of Alzheimer 's disease, and was living in Stellar Care memory care at the time of his death. Jim was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and grew up in Washington, DC. He graduated from Anacostia High School in D.C. and took a number of college courses throughout the years. He served as an Aircraft Electronics Navigation Radioman, in the Air Force on Active Duty for eight months in 1964 and then became a member of the Air National Guard of the District of Columbia, as a reservist of the Air Force. He was honorably discharged as an Airman 1st Class, after serving 3+ years combined service in the Air Force. Jim worked most of his life as a computer programmer and analyst, beginning his civilian career at Riggs Bank in Washington, DC. He lived in Minnesota working as an Associate Programmer Analyst, and for various engineering and business organizations as a Programmer/Analyst in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and worked for Arizona State in Phoenix, AZ, before moving to San Diego in 1984 and then retiring here working as a programmer at Kyocera. He also drove a school bus in his retirement for the San Diego school system.

Jim loved God and his country, his church and charities, his music and affinity for stereo and sound equipment, travel and foreign sports cars. He loved Emmanuel Faith Community Church and it has been his second home for 30 plus years. He was a member of the Adult Bible study group and loved traveling with this group of friends for many years, going to Israel and Russia on missionary trips and spreading the love of his Lord and Savior to others. Separately or sometimes with his brother, he traveled to 47 of the 50 states, only missing Hawaii, Alaska, and North Dakota. He served as a greeter at church on Sunday, and sometimes worked the sounds system. He also served as a member of the CARE group at church. He loved to serve his Lord! His favorite singer was George Beverly Shea of the Billy Graham ministries.

Jim was never married nor had any children of his own. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Alice, Father Flint, Sister Alma, and two brothers, Flint and Butch.
