Mrs. Rosalyn Marie 'Rosie' Williams of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, age 97, passed away on May 24, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Eula Winfrey: brother, Phillip Winfrey: sister Jean Trauernicht and sister Faye Winfrey Shoemake.
She is survived by her husband of 76 years, L.S. Williams; children Thomas L. Williams (Dena) and daughter Patricia Faye Thompson (Rod) and various nieces and nephews. Rosie was born in Nashville Tennessee and graduated in 1944 from Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio. After graduation, she moved back to Nashville and began working at Nashville Bank and Trust Company until she and L.S. married.
Rosie and L.S. have been members of Dickerson Road Baptist Church for over 65 years and before that members of Inglewood Baptist Church. Rosie worked in the nursery at Dickerson Road Baptist for many years, was director of Homebound Department and later taught the Adult Ladies Sunday School class.
Rosie and L.S. enjoyed traveling in their RV and visiting campgrounds around the south fishing at various lakes near the campgrounds. Last year they moved to NHC Cool Springs.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30 from 4 pm until 8 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service with Mike Blankenship officiating will take place on Wednesday, May 31 at 10 am. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
