John F. Achhammer, 69, 2072 Weeping Willow Lane Mount Joy died Wednesday evening at the Lancaster General Hospital after a seven year battle with cancer. He was married 28 years to Beverly Becker Geesey Achhammer who survives.

Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Catherine Achhammer Hess. A welder by trade for over 35 years, John worked for various welding outfits retiring from the Sandvic Company. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a life member of the American Legion Post 329, Elizabethtown.

In addition to his wife is his daughter Sandra L. wife of Jeff Royer, Mount Joy; grandchildren, Jessica Weaver, Mount Joy; Michele wife of Carlos Velez, Landisville; Brandon Weaver, Elizabethtown; great grandchildren, Xander and Zoe. A sister Karen Testerman of Virginia also survives. A sister Gloria McCready preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held from the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc. 519 Walnut St. Columbia PA on Saturday at 2:00PM with the Rev. Glenn L. Compton, officiating. Interment in Ironville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the service.. Kindly omit flowers.
