Walter L. Adams, 87, formerly of 317 W. Grant St., died at 11:15 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Solon Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Services will be held at noon Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

He was born October 1, 1902 in Streator, a son of Fred and Mary (Weis) Adams. He married Mary Jakupcak. She died in 1972.

Surviving are daughters: Betty (William) Boyle of Ottawa, Shirley (William) Oldani of Elwood and Pat (Dennis) Mann of Streator; seven grandchildren; one brother: Fred Adams of Streator; and sisters: Catherine McCardia of Villa Park, Beatrice Jung of Chicago and Emily Gallick of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Edward Adams.

He resided in the Streator area most of his life and was employed by Owens-Illinois Glass Company for 43 years, retiring in 1967. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 645 and Immaculate Conception Church.
