ARREGUIN DOLORES Aged 81, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma and friend and lost her courageous battle with Alzheimer's on Monday, May 6, 2002. Dolores was born in Carlin, Nevada, on March 13, 1921, and moved with her family to Oakland, California, in 1933. As a young girl Dolores enjoyed dancing and met her sailor husband at a dance. They were soon married at St. Patrick's Church in Oakland in February of 1943. She has resided in Hayward for the last 49 years. Dolores, also known as Lola, loved spending her time crocheting, going to the movies with her siblings, playing cards and scrabble, writing letters to keep in touch, and making tortillas by the dozen that she enjoyed sharing with her neighbors and family. She shared special times with her sister Anita and her two children who lived down the street. Grandma always kept an ample supply of ice cream drumsticks in the freezer because that was her favorite dessert. Her house and kitchen were always open. Dolores is survived by her dedicated husband, Jose; daughter, Dolores Cunha of Fremont; son, Joe R. Arreguin of Pleasanton; sisters, Anita Sisneros and Helen Velasco, both of Hayward; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2002, at 9:15 a.m., at All Saints Catholic Church in Hayward. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 9, 2002 from 3-9 p.m. Vigil service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Burial Friday, immediately following mass, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Oakland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2065 W. El Camino Real, Suite C, Mountain View, CA 94040-2217. Sorenson Bros.
