Alvin A Salzman, 64, a semi-retired town of Schleswig (Manitowoc County Farmer, died Wednesday evening of a sudden heart attack at his farm home near Kiel.
In previous good health he had returned only two weeks ago from a Florida vacation.
A native of Schleswig, Mr Salzman was born on the farm home of his parents , the late Edward and Anna Pickruhn Salzman Aug 18, 1891.
He recived his early education in the district school there and later took the two-year short course in farming at the University of Wisconsin. He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, June 4, 1906.
His marriage to the former Hattie Winkel also took place at Zion Church, April 8, 1915
Since marriage the couple had operated the same Schleswig farm. In addition to farming, Mr Salzman operated a tree spraying business in the area for 20 years.
Acitve in rural community life, he was a past president of the Schleswig Farm Bureau and former member of the board of Schleswig School District No 7.
Surviving are his wife; one son Gordon ; three grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Clara Salzman and Mrs Alma Smith and one brother, Elmer Salzman.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Burial in Union Cemetery, Schleswig.
