Killed in Orofino at a Bar he has just opened
Patrick was a bar owner in Lewiston and prominent citizen in the gold rush days and an early proponent of vigilante justice against the Plummer Roughs who were robbing on the gold roads from Orofino to Lewiston and on the road from Florence to Lewiston. Ford was killed in a gun fight with the Roughs in Orofino. Plummer was a gambler in Lewiston and passed on information to his gang about scheduled deliveries of gold. Later, Plummer had moved his operations to the Montana gold fields, become a marshal of a town and his gang members were his deputies..... his gang would eventually be tracked down in Montana and hanged. from the book by Nathaniel Langford in 1890 "Vigilante Days and Ways"Owned a saloon in Orofino. He was one of Orofino's favorite saloon keepers, largely because he employed Spanish dancing girls.

He was killed in a shoot out with the Henry Plummer gang.
