Death of One of the Oldest Grand Island Settlers.

The wife of Joch Doll after a protracted illness died yesterday, and the funeral will take place on Thursday. Mr. Doll and his wife came to this country in 1857 and with the first colony, that settled in Hall Co., a little south-east of the present city of Grand Island. doll opened the farm, where now Mr. Roush lives, and at a later period removed with his family to Howard Co., where he opened a new splendid farm a few miles northeast of Dannebrog. MR. and Mrs. doll were very industrious and much esteemed people, who raised a large family, which have the deepest sympathy of the whole community and especially of the old settlers of Grand Island.

This morning Dr. Puhek was called to St. Paul to attend to Mrs. doll, who has been in a very precarious condition and suffering for some time past.
