Nuvil Ayres Of Near Scottsburg Dies In Hospital

Nuvil C. Ayres, 52, of Route 3, Scottsburg, died Monday March 30 at Veteran's Hospital in Indianapolis. Death was due to cancer; he had been ill several months.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Ayres of Scottsburg; daughters, Kathleen and Charlene Ayres, at home; brother, Norman J. Ayres, Phoenix, Ariz; sisters, Mrs. Margaret Welch, Virginia, and Mrs. Thelma Hammons Kentucky.

Mr. Ayres had been a Scott County resident for 12 years and was originally from Owenton, Ky.

He was a farmer, a veteran of World War II and a member of Bethel Baptist Church at Leota.

He was a member also of Scott American Legion Post.

The funeral was to be today at 1:30 p.m. at the Bethel Church, with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at New Liberty, Ky.

The Rev. Robert Burch was to offiicate and arrangements were handled by the Gene H. Vest Funeral Home.
