Paul Michael Bernardo, Jr. 84, of Princeton Junction, NJ, entered into God's Kingdom on May 17, 2023. He was born to Natalie and Paul Bernardo from Englishtown, NJ, and has a close sister, Sandra Hayden, 83 of Pt. Pleasant, NJ. He passed away quietly at home under hospice care with a peaceful smile on his face in a sunroom setting, with birds chirping and a lovely scenic view of woods and flowering plants.
Paul was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Arleen, 82 of Monmouth Junction NJ, born to Rose and Charles Tammaro, and his two children, Michelle, 60, and Michael, 58. Paul was a selfless man, a good provider, with a strong devotion to family and tradition. He loved to salute the U.S. flag and had a true love of God and Country. Paul was also a veteran and patriot who served in the United States Army. He loved the NY Yankees, pizza, traveling, golf and boating. Paul enjoyed telling endless stories of his trips to Colorado, where he owned property and would spend weeks at a time; a fisherman, hunter and true lover of the natural world.
He was elected President of his Senior High School Class of '57 at Jamesburg High and was also voted Prom King for both sophomore and senior years of his high school years, something rare, but that's the kind of popular individual he was. Paul was a gentleman, generous and outgoing, and a supportive and loving friend to many.
A Celebration of Paul's life will begin on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the A.S. Cole Son & Co., 22 North Main Street, Cranbury, NJ.
Cremation was held privately.
