John's Hospital.
She was born Feb. 27, 1925, in Springfield, the daughter of Obra and Harriet Dupont Black. She married Paul H. Bissell in 1971. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Black; sister, Mildred E. Staten; half brother, Obra "Bud" Black; and two half sisters, Fern Burnett and Eva Fink.
Surviving are her husband, Paul H.; brothers, Ed Black of Des Arc, Mo., and Harold Black of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Jennie Painter and Eileen Wilson, both of Springfield; half sister, Clara Slane of Biloxi, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
