At Last At Home, Last Saturday Mr. A. H. McLain was summoned by telegram to the bedside of his brother John, who was lying quite ill at the Mt. Pleasant asylum. Upon arriving three, John's first utterance was a piteous appeal to be taken back to Biggsville; and Mr. M. brought him back Sunday evening, arriving on the 11:09 train. But the disease, which has fastened upon him (inflammation of the bowels) had obtained too firm a hold, and the next day, Monday, at the residence of Jerry Carter, at 3:45 pm he ceased to breathe. John McLain J. was known by everybody n this vicinity and for miles around and had the sympathy of all on account of the sad affliction brought upon him by some disease in his early life. His age was 48 years, 7 months and 20 days. The funeral was held at the CP church Tuesday pm, Rev. Mr. Lawyer officiating. The internment at South Henderson Cemetery.
