Abbie was the daughter of Joseph Burk and Elizabeth "Betsy" J. Harvey. She was married twice. First to James Patrick Sheffield on the 31 of October 1908 in Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana. Jeffersonville is just across the state line between Kentucky and Indiana. James and Abbie had 3 children: James, Lucile, and Henry. Sadly James passed in 1916, leaving Abbie with those 3 small children. By 1920, Abbie was married to Charles G. Yeager.
