Robert E.(Elliott)? Spotswood (c1809-ante1887) married c1833, Sarah Ann Bradley (Barclay, Barkley?) (c1815-). The family settled in Ralls County, Mo. in 1831 and moved in 1842 to Henry County, Mo. After the Civil War they moved to Denton County, Tx. Nine children were Jane (c1835-); Margaret A. (c1838-1918/9) who married in 1874, B.F. Ashby; Thomas A. (c1839-) who served in the Civil War(CSA) and married in 1874, Rosanna Miller; James A. (c1841-); Elizabeth W. (c1845-) who married Joseph D. Davis; Mary M. (1848-1924) who married Elijah A. Brewer (1849-1919); Henrietta; William D. (1853-1926)(unm); and John Cleveland Spotswood (1856-1940) who married in 1887, Mary Virginia Minchew (1857-1920).
