Captain Dustin was born in Hartland, Vermont and was a resident of Derry, New Hampshire when he enlisted at the age of 33 on 02 Oct 1861 as a private. Mustered in Nov 28, 1861. Appointed 1st Sgt. Nov. 30, 1861
