Smith W. "Bill" Jordan
Bill Jordan of Boise, Idaho and Big Pine Key, Florida, loving spouse, father, grandfather, and friend, left us on March 25, 2015 at home surrounded by love. Please join his family for a Celebration of his Life on April 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Amity Campus of First United Methodist Church located at 4464 S Maple Grove Rd, Boise, Idaho. There will be a reception to follow at Bill and Esther Jordan's home, 3100 Pheasant Hollow Rd., Boise, Idaho. Private family interment will follow at a later date at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
Bill was born November 3, 1933 in Nyssa, Oregon, son of Smith Oscar Jordan and lcle V. (Samson) Jordan. Bill graduated from Adrian High School (Oregon) in 1952 and joined the US Navy with a group of life-long friends. Bill married Esther Spencer on November 20, 1955 in Westminster, CA. They celebrated over 59 years of marriage and always remained each other's best friends. They rejoiced at the birth of their three children; which was their proudest achievement.
Bill retired from the US Navy after over 20 years of service. After retirement he was employed by the Credit Bureau of Salt Lake City as Assistant Manager until he started with his partners, Credit Data Idaho, Inc. bringing automated credit reporting to Idaho. He continued to run his company until his retirement in 2002. At that time he decided that the ocean was calling and he and

Esther moved to the Florida Keys to see how the fishing was. After 2002 Bill and Esther lived split years in Florida and in Idaho. Not content with retirement, he joined the US Coast Guard Auxiliary where he taught boater safety for several years. By the way, the fishing was pretty good.
Bill's biggest passion was his family. He loved us all unconditionally and we all knew that. He was also a huge BSU football and basketball fan. It was always hilarious watching him trying to convert any Floridian he could to follow the BLUE!! He loved his cabin in Featherville and you could always find him running his tractor on his Boise "farm".
Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Esther F Jordan; and his children, Joyce (Robert) Hartley, Rebecca (Howard) Brown, and Joseph (Nichole) Jordan. Bill is also survived by his grandchildren who all adored their Poppa: Aaron Adams, Scott Brown, Andrea Armstrong, Genie Brown, Halley Jordan, Annie Hartley, Kaity Jordan, and Mikayla Hartley; great grandchildren, Zaiden Adamorbitizer and Colton Brown; sister, Myrna Schram; and many nephews, nieces, other relatives, good friends and adopted family (you know who you are!!).
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Virgil Jordan; and his beloved granddaughter, Hannah.
