Harriet Josephine Dyer is the daughter of William Wilson and Harriet Charlotte (McClurg) Dyer. She married Dusenberry Coker (son of Sylvester and Fidelia (Peek) Coker) on November 14, 1887, in Glasgow, Scott County, Illinois. Harriet and Dusenberry had four daughters: Elsie May, Hazel, Iva Blanche, and Doris Myrtle (died at three months). Harriet died due to complications associated with childbirth. Her stillborn son, Paul, was buried in her arms. Harriet Josephine (and Paul) are buried next to Dusenberry, with his tombstone noting "D. Coker".
