Seraphin C. "Snooker" DeWitt, age 86, longtime resident of Two Rivers, died peacefully at his residence Friday afternoon, June 9, 2023.

Snooker was born in Algoma on November 23, 1936 to Seraphin and Anna Mae (Kinnard) DeWitt, Sr. He attended school in Two Rivers before being drafted into the U.S. Army where he served for two years with the military until his honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Patricia A. Rathsack on July 11, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with three daughters and 63 years of marriage. They were longtime members of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lakewood, WI and St. Peter the Fisherman Parish in Two Rivers.

Snooker worked for Hamilton Industries in Two Rivers for 44 years until retiring in 1999. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Athelstane and Silver Cliff, the Knights of Columbus-Council #1957 of Two Rivers, and the Manitowoc Elks Lodge #687. He loved snowmobiling, and was a member of the Kettle Range Snow Riders since the 70's, and Paul Bunyan Riders of Lakewood. He also loved spending time at his cottage in Lakewood which he enjoyed for over 50 years; he enjoyed deer hunting and getting together with friends at the "hunting shack", and always enjoyed riding in his Jeep. Over the years, Snooker remained very active playing many years of softball; he was a longtime member of the Two Rivers Horseshoe League; and he enjoyed many years of miniature bowling. He also enjoyed traveling, especially vacationing to Florida and his many trips to Canada; and he was always up for a good game of sheepshead.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy; three daughters: Karnie (Jim) Goessl of Two Rivers, Robin (Dave) Huempfner of Wausau, Holly DeWitt (Roger Kintgen) of Mishicot; eight grandchildren: Jeff Goessl (fiance, Dani), Brad (Melanie) Goessl, Erik (Rachel) Goessl, Zachary (Kristen) Huempfner, Joshua (Amy) Huempfner, Hannah Huempfner, Kyle DeWitt, and Kendra (Hailey) DeWitt; along with nine great-grandchildren: Madi, Evelyn, Lainey, Sutton, Hayden, Clarke, Rozi, Maverick, and Emmalyn. He is further survived by two brothers & three sisters-in-law: Donald (Pat) DeWitt, Dennis (Ann) DeWitt, and Bernice DeWitt, all of Two Rivers; one brother-in-law, Peter (Pam) Rathsack of Waunakee; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Seraphin and Anna Mae DeWitt; one brother, Luke DeWitt; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Peter and Isabel Rathsack; and in-laws: Floyd and Gertie Meyer, Gerald and LaVerne Rathsack.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2023 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Rev. Dave Pleier will officiate at the memorial mass, with military rites to immediately follow by members of American Legion Post # 165 and VFW Post # 1248 of Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Friday from 2:00 until 3:45 p.m.

The funeral service will be live streamed on the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church website or St. Peter the Fisherman Facebook page.
