Barry Lee Booth, Sr., a loving husband, a lovable father, a doting grandfather, an awesome father-in-law, and a caring brother and uncle, answered the call from God on April 30, 2023 and entered into eternal rest. He was born on August 31, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Vivian and Ernest Booth, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kevin "KK" Booth.

Barry, fondly known as "Bootsy," received his education in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools and graduated from Annapolis Senior High School, class of 1979. During his middle and high school years, he played on the basketball team and was well-known for his gifted skillset of handling the ball. For the past 32 years, Barry was a dedicated recreational leader for the City of Annapolis, Recreation and Parks Department. This career path assisted Barry in being a great leader in the community.

In Barry's youthful years, he played basketball with the Annapolis Summer Basketball League and was a very competitive teammate with his community's (Eastport) team. In the 1990's, he was the Commissioner of the Annapolis Summer Basketball League. During his tenure, the league gained national recognition and was rated the fifth best summer league organization by "Hoops Magazine." Barry organized many tournaments that hosted both youth and adult teams from Baltimore, Washington DC, Virginia, Philadelphia, and North Carolina.

For many years, he orchestrated basketball clinics which touched hundreds of children in the Annapolis community. He was a dedicated teacher and coach who loved working with the youth, especially the Barry's Bulls basketball team. He was known for his positive attitude, his sense of humor and his commitment to helping the players succeed. He was also a strong advocate for good sportsmanship and character development.

Barry was raised in a Christian family and as a young boy he attended Asbury United Methodist Church with his family. Recently, Barry worshipped, with his wife, at First Christian Community Church of Annapolis.

Barry was a man of many interests. He enjoyed relaxing to smooth jazz music, grilling up some delicious food, watching sports (he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan), and spending quality time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He looked forward to the Annual OcktoberFest that he and his wife hosted at their home which was always a grand success. Barry also enjoyed going to the Annual Capital Jazz Festival at the Merriweather Post Pavilion. As soon as the lineup of artist was announced he would call up the "JazzFest Crew" and state whether he thought it was a good line up or not or which days were best to attend even though he knew the Crew would attend the entire weekend. He was the "grand organizer" of the event and he would go and purchase the tickets so everyone was sitting in the same area of the venue. This gave him great pleasure and joy to boss the crew around. Departure time was 7:00 a.m. sharp!
