David Butler Passes Away
David A. Butler died at his home in this pace, Monday afternoon, April 25, of pneumonia fever, aged 68 years.
Deceased was born in Bedford County, Tennessee, and came with his father to Marionville in 1851, when he was about fifteen years of age, making his place this place his home ever since. His long residence here entitled him to be classed among the pioneer citizens.
He was twice married, his present wife and six children surviving him. He professed religion and joined the Christian Church in 1872 and was highly respected by all who knew him. The funeral services were conducted at the family residence by Rev. Pyle Tuesday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in the Butler burial ground.

...On January 2, 1870, in Marionville, (Lawrence County), Missouri, Priscilla N. King Hammach married David A.J. Butler, a native of Bedford County, Tennessee. David served in Co H., 6th Provisional Regiment Enrolled Missouri Militia, a Union Regiment, from April 1, 1863 thru August 1, 1864. Priscilla and David Butler were the parents of 7 children. David died April 25, 1904.
On a Declaration for Original Pension for a Widow Surviving dated May 7, 1904, Priscilla had to swear "That she has not in any manner been engaged in, aided or abetted the rebellion in the United States..."
When Priscilla died January 18, 1933, at the age of almost 89, she was receiving a monthly widow's pension of $40.00. She is buried in Marionville, Missouri.
