Kerry was born March 2,1947 in Grand Rapids and moved to Lowell at the age of two. After he graduated from Lowell High School in 1965, he then proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was passionate about restoring his 1965 Chevelle with son, Nick, and many special friends, along with building motors and transmissions for racers, and helping with and attending the races. Kerry dragged raced during high school and after he returned from Vietnam. Back in the day, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was also an excellent carpenter, built houses, and helped others with their building projects. Kerry enjoyed coaching his kids in baseball and softball and was the President of the Lowell Little League. He gave back to his community through many building and grounds projects in sports, school, and church. He enjoyed his kids and grandkids sporting events through the years, attending as many games as possible. Most recently he was able to see four of his youngest grandsons' high school football games. He was a beloved grandfather who enjoyed taking his grandsons on tractor rides, camping, taking naps with them in his lap and telling them stories.
