Mrs. Orlin Steckel of Lafayette died Tuesday morning in the Lafayette Home hospital, where she had been a patient for five weeks.
Mrs. Steckel, the former Ada L. Aitkens, was born in Clinton county October 14, 1899, a daughter of Hezekiah and Samantha Aitkens. She and Orlin Stekel were married in 1919.
Surviving are the husband, a daughter, Mrs. Lena Young of Lafayette; a son, Lorin, of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; a brother, Lawrence Aitkens of Frankfort route 7; a sister, Mrs. Nola Denison of Frankfort, and four grandchildren.
The Steckel family moved to Lafayette from Mulberry in 1934.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p. m. today (Thursday) at the Soller-Baker funeral chapel in Lafayette, with the Rev. Linus Wierwill officiating. Burial was in the Fair Haven cemetery.
