Mr. Charles Arvid Cusumano of Campbellsville was born in Newark, New Jersey on October 23, 1943 to the late Carl VanMiller and Edith Ann-Marie (Johnson) Cusumano. He departed this life on Wednesday, August 24, 2017 at his home after an extended illness. He was 73 years, 10 months, and 1 day of age. He was a Physician's Assistant and was employed at the Taylor Regional Hospital and a retiree of the Muhlenberg Community Hospital. A graduate of the inaugural class of Physician's Assistants at Cornell University, Mr. Cusumano was a well-traveled, educated, creative, and caring man, and he opened his heart and home to several friends and international students. He was married to his sweetheart, Sandra (Foos) Cusumano, over 37 years. She survives. He was a talented drummer with a passion for "big band" music of the 1920's and 30's, an avid Chicago Bears fan, and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was a former professor for the University of Kentucky, a founding Fellow of the Cornell Weill PA program, and a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants, and several other professional organizations.

Besides his wife, he is also survived by two children, a sister, a brother, a niece and nephew, four grandchildren, a close buddy and former brother-in-law. Friends and international students and a host of other relatives and close friends. Mr. Cusumano chose cremation, and there will be a private family service at a later date in New Jersey.
