Kerry D. Deardorff was a loving, selfless, and caring father, brother, and friend. He passed away peacefully on June 19, 2023 at 73 years old. He was born in Mishawaka, IN on May 4, 1950 and resided in Vernon Hills, IL as of his passing. Kerry was preceded by his parents, Richard and Louise Deardorff. He is survived by his sons, Austin (Tanya) and Ethan; stepmother, Rosemary; brother, Dale (Mary Lou); niece, Sarah; nephew, Neil and partner Alice Chung.Kerry received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN and his master's degree from IUPUI in Indianapolis, IN. He was a career social worker for the nonprofit Community Alternatives Unlimited (CAU) and specialized in assisting developmentally disabled adults. Kerry was always selfless and gave himself to others, even if it was in the form of a terrible pun or joke. He loved the outdoors, traveling, and adventure.A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 12-4 PM with a 30-minute service to celebrate the life of Kerry at 1 PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL 60067. In lieu of flowers, please donate to CAU's Jack Ginsberg Scholarship Fund on behalf of Kerry Deardorff. Kerry grew up in Mishawaka, Indiana, graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1968, completed his bachelor's degree at Purdue University, and his master's at IUPUI (Indianapolis). As a licensed clinical social worker, he specialized in assisting developmentally disabled adults.


Kerry was survived by two sons and a brother.
