GRIFFITHS, HERBERT HAROLD. Driver. No 141315. Royal Field Artillery. Born Hammersmith, London 12.5.1897. Son of Herbert and Sarah Ann Griffiths, 24 South Street, Huddersfield. Educated Christ Church School, Bow Lane, Preston. Employed as a pattern maker. Enlisted 6.5.1916. Wounded in the left ankle with shrapnel, 3.12.1917. Discharged from the artillery 3.9.1918. Died from osteomyelitis of the ankle following the shrapnel wound on 5.5.1920, aged 22 at 24 South Street, Huddersfield.
