Greg C. Vandiver, age 61, of Elwood, IN passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Elwood Health and Living following an extended illness.

Greg was born in Tipton, IN on December 31, 1961, to the late James and Genevieve (Jeffries) Vandiver. On February 27, 1981, he married Betty C. (Ponder) Vandiver they shared 38 years of marriage together before she passed away on June 18, 2019.

Greg retired as Custodian from Elwood Community Schools after several years of service. He served his country in the Indiana National Guard for 6 years and was also a member of the Open Door Church of God in Alexandria. Greg thoroughly enjoyed watching TV, many in his family would call him a "Tv-aholic." He also had a special admiration for woodworking. Family was deeply important to Greg, he loved to spend time with his family and will be sadly missed by all.

Greg is survived by two loving daughters, Elizabeth (Timothy) Green of Buckeye, AZ; Savanna (Randy) Moore of Orestes, IN and 3 grandchildren, Timothy Ethaneal "Ethan" & Genevieve "Genna" Green and Layla Moore; sister, Judy K (Dave) Ramsey of Sharpsville, IN; and 2 nephews, Bryan (Kris) Ramsey and Drew (Lindsay) Ramsey; sister-in-law Georgeanna (Don) Smith of Elwood, IN; and 2 nieces Megan (Nate) Warren and Melissa (Mark) Passmore; brother-in-law George "Bud" (Teena) Ponder of Summitville, IN; and niece Ashley (Jesse) Stitt as well as nephew Zachary "Zach" (Brandy) Ponder.

Along with his parents and wife Greg was preceded in death by his brothers/best friends, Danny (Naomi) M. Vandiver and Jim Fisher.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana.

The funeral service celebrating Greg's life will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, with Pastor Brad Moore officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery.
