Loreta was married to Lawrence Abbott on Feb. 16, 1946, and they had just recently celebrated 62 years of marriage. They came to the Grays Harbor area in 1950, and had since resided here.
In 1952, the couple moved to Montesano and in the early 1960s she helped organize and manage the local recreation center. She chaperoned many "hide-away" dances and also was a past president of the Montesano V.F.W. Auxiliary.
1978, found the couple moving to Pacific Beach where they bought and operated the North Beach Café. In 1997, they moved to Hoquiam where she had since resided. For the past several years she helped her husband with his commercial Daily World route.
Loreta loved her grandchildren, her beloved flowers, and she enjoyed watching the Seattle Mariners as well as the Dodgers and working withcrossword puzzles.
Loreta is survived by her husband, Lawrence Abbott of the family home in Hoquiam; her twin daughters, Marlene Muller of Hoquiam and Darlene Downey of Olympia; her son and her special daughter-in-law, Larry and Donna Abbott of Copalis Crossing; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m., on Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, March 31, 2008, at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel with Betty Miller officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Hoquiam V.F.W. Social Hall. Private interment will be held at the Hoquiam Sunset Memorial Park.
